Product Description
AMPIRE OBD port as an extension cable that includes a protective cover as OBD protection, high quality copper cables.
Modern cars have a so-called On Board Diagnosis (OBD) interface. This global standard OBD connector allows reading data about the vehicle, programming the control devices in the vehicle and learning additional vehicle keys. Car thieves use this open interface to manipulate the immobilizer. Within seconds the immobilizer is disarmed or a new key has been learned. For this reason, we recommend moving the OBD connector to another location on the vehicle. With a cable length of 1 meter, you can route your OBD socket, for example, in the glove box, under the seat or in the center console. With the OBD-P100 you can place the OBD connector using the bracket in another location of the vehicle.

Assembly Note:
If the cable is 1 meter long, you should not wrap the excess cable into a ring (coil). If possible, avoid routing the cable together with other wiring harnesses or control devices in the vehicle. These precautions are intended to prevent interference with communication between the car and the diagnostic system. In addition, the installation location of the OBD connector should be chosen so that it is accessible even during a test drive. Because emission tests are also conducted during test instructions.
